NOTES
This church was originally built as Lawrence Street Congregational Church. This
congregation merged with Trinity Congregational at Trinity's building to form
what is now [1989] Hope Congregational Church. The old Lawrence Street church
was subsequently sold to the Spanish Church of God (Iglesia de Dios Mission
Board). The organ has not been in use since that time.
More than half of both the Great 16' Open Diapason and 8' 1st Open Diapason
comprise the pipe façade. The Great 8' Tuba has a bass, 12-pipe extension to
provide for the Pedal 16' Trombone, however all 32 pipes needed for the Pedal
register are on a separate chest in front of the Great chest at floor level.
The resonators rise between the Great chest and the facade. The remaining 41
8' Tuba pipes are on the Great main chest.
Both the Pedal 16' Open Diapason and 16' Bourdon are of wood, and line the
two chamber walls perpendicular to one another. The Pedal 16' Dulciana is a
12-pipe extension of the Choir 8' Dulciana, however the Pedal extension is
non-expressive on a separate chest at the side/end of the Choir enclosure,
and at floor level.
