Updated by Mark Lutton, who has heard or played the organ. The organ is unusual in that the lower manual (Great) is under expression with all of the pipes in the swell box in the back of the case, including the 8\' Open Diapason. The upper manual (Positive) pipes are forward in the case and are not under expression. The display pipes do not sound.
The original builder was Wm. B. D. Simmons (1872).
Status Note: There 2003.
Rebuild by Andover Organ Co. c. 2003. The organ was moved forward to gain access for tuning and maintenance. The action, wind system, windchests were rebuilt and the tonal specifications of the instrument were completed, including the addition of a Trumpet. Dedicated 20 Oct 2003 (or 2002?).
