This instrument is: Not Extant and Not Playable in this location

Andrew Henderson on July 27th, 2025:

According to The Herald-Gazette (Bracebridge, ON, November 14, 1957): “The old pipe organ, originally installed in 1906, is being dismantled this week, having been purchased by Obery Kennedy, of Bracebridge, who intends to recondition the instrument and electrify the action. This instrument was installed by the Spence[r] Organ Co., and was the first pipe organ in the Muskoka District. For many years the pumping of the organ bellows has been done by electric motor, but there was a time when a long handle was operated by hand to keep the wind going to play the organ, or this was used for emergencies. This was reached through a door at the side of the organ chamber, and anyone entering this room was confronted with a sign: ‘Notice: Please take a long steady stroke when pumping this organ otherwise you will put it out of order and break something.’”

Andrew Henderson on June 29th, 2025:

According to the North Star (Parry Sound, November 28, 1906) a new pipe organ was installed.
