According to the Times (Owen Sound, May 16, 1919): "Methodists of Tara to install old organ from Knox Church. This week's Tara Leader says: A movement is on foot to have a pipe organ installed in the Methodist Church and Mr. J. Victor Tobey, the organist, is the prime mover in the scheme. The plan is to purchase the organ at present in Knox Church, Owen Sound, and to have Messrs. Warren & Son of Woodstock, rebuild it into a splendid up-to-date two manual electro-pneumatic instrument. It will be of the most modern construction throughout and will have a detached keyboard which will enable the organist to sit in front of the choir, thus giving him full control of the singers at all times. The cost of installing the instrument will be about $2,000 and an effort is being made to raise that amount in subscriptions from the members and adherents."
