Paul R. Marchesano on August 12th, 2022:
The Derrick & Felgemaker Organ Company of Erie, Pennsylvania, must have had a false sense of security that it was to build a new organ for the new Cathedral when it announced in an Ohio newspaper, “The agent of the firm in this city expects to place one in St. Joseph Cathedral in a short time which will be second to none in the State, outside of the big organ in the Cincinnati Music Hall.” Arrival of the first pipe organ, which was built by the Jackson Pipe Organ Company, in fact had to wait until 1880. -- *Pipe Organs of Columbus 2022*
