Originally 4/17 built in 1922 for the America Theatre, Denver, Colorado.
After the America Theatre closed in 1930, the organ was removed and put in storage. After three years, the City of Denver, which had acquired the organ on a tax lien, put the instrument up for auction. It was sold to the only bidder -- the man who had maintained the organ since its installation -- for $285. The organ was later sold to the Pillar of Fire Church and installed in their Alma Temple. Around 1970, the organ was removed by a speculator, who took it to Tawas City, Michigan, and stored it in a chicken coop, awaiting a buyer. In 1975, the Trustees of The Binghamton Savings Bank purchased the organ for installation in the new Broome Center for the Performing Arts (the Forum Theatre) in Binghampton, New York, where it was rebuilt and enlarged to 4/22.
