Jim Stettner on November 19th, 2023:

Referencing 'Notes' below, according to the book Hilborne and Frank Roosevelt by David H. Fox, the organ was originally built in 1877 and was used as a rental instrument. It was then sold and relocated to First Presbyterian in Charlottesville, Virgini in 1883.

Database Manager on July 11th, 2018:

The second pipe organ was built by Mr. Adam Stein of Baltimore, and, when purchased in 1902, Mr. Stein agreed to take the old organ as part payment on the new one. The total cost of the new organ was $3000. Of this amount, Mrs. Mary S. Venable donated $2000, and the Church paid $500 plus the old organ. Before the old organ could be removed, Mr. George Perkins purchased it from Mr. Stein for $540, and donated it to the Church. It was installed in the Lecture Room. Some years later, a piano was
purchased, and the original organ was sold to the Delevan [Ebenezer] Black Church. --Church History book

The Roosevelt Opus List shows that No. 32 was "For Renting."

Database Manager on September 13th, 2005:

The first pipe organ used in the Charlottesville Presbyterian Church was purchased
sometime during 1885, for $1000. The organ was purchased through the interest of Mrs. C. H.
Hedges, who happened to know of a church which wished to dispose of one because it was too
small. It was built at the Roosevelt Organ Factory. --Church History book
