Paul R. Marchesano on April 19th, 2023:

The organ in this church is a large, first-class three banked instrument-a little to high up in the tower to show off its tones to their full effect. It was built by Johnson in 1855, and has thirty-three stops. Until recently, W.W. Rousseau played it. Chorus choir.
--"Church Music," Troy Daily Times, 13:219 (Mar.11, 1865), 3. [reprinted in the 2006 OHS Organ Atlas]

Paul R. Marchesano on April 19th, 2023:

The Park Presbyterian Church was organized in 1854 to serve the southern section of Troy. In July, one day after the church building was dedicated a fire consumed the church and many of the houses surrounding. All but four of the families connected with the church lost their homes. Nonetheless, a new church building was erected and dedicated for worship on December 31 of the same year. It, too, has been dissolved.
