Nicholas Koch on April 5th, 2024:

The building was sold to a new owner in 2024 and Koch & Company of Dayton, Ohio was contracted to remove several ranks in the organ including the 8’ Gemshorn, 8’ Doppel Flute, 8’ Salicional + Voix Celeste, 8’ Dulciana, 4’ Orchestral Flute, 2’ Harmonic Piccolo, 8’ Oboe, 8’ Clarinet, and 8’ Tuba.

All tonally altered pipework and water damaged 16’s were left in the chambers.

Nicholas Koch on February 28th, 2022:

This organ is almost entirely playable but has not been used since the church closed about 10+ years ago. Most issues/dead notes are caused by dust and plaster debris.
The pipework is in very good condition and appears to have been cleaned at some point before the church closed. All pipework appears to be original though some revoicing has been done to a few ranks. The pipework is of very high quality though some pipes have been poorly racked and are starting to lean, however this can be corrected. The specification has a solid foundation at 8' pitch composed of principals, flutes, strings, muted string hybrid, and reed stops, with enough upperwork (4' - 2') to add brightness and clarity to the overall tone. There is a large scale, full length 16' Open Wood in the Pedal and a 16' Lieblich Gedeckt (presumably from the SW) that provides a good foundation in the Pedal division. The 16' Trombone in the Pedal also adds definition without being overwhelming in the space. Overall, this is an exceptionally fine instrument but could use some corrective voicing work to improve the speech of some pipes.
All divisions are enclosed in chambers that span the entire width of the stage.
