Paul R. Marchesano on March 15th, 2021:

After working with an organbuilder in Leipzig, Germany, Peter Conacher (1823–1894) formed Conacher and Co. in 1854 in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England, initially with Richard Brown, then from 1859 with Joseph Hebblethwaite. It is not clear when Brown left the firm to enter business under his own name, but in 1873 the company moved to the Springwood Organ Works, Water Street, Huddersfield, which might suggest the founding of Brown's firm.
