Providence Organ Inc. was establish in 1946 by Maurice Guilbault, a former Casavant employee. The firm was involved in service work, but also built various specialty components, acting as a supplier to builders. In 1971, Guilbault made a partnership with one of his employees, Guy Therien, another former Casavant staff member. Therien was a voicer, and the two made the transition from service firm to service/builder. The company name was changed to Guilbault-Therien to reflect the new management.
